Retroperitoneal Fibrosis

...because I'm not the only forgetful one in my house.

I saw my doctor about some severe gut and back pain that seemed to be related to eating, as it appeared to start an hour or two after eating, back in the beginning of April. They found nothing wrong in the digestive system, but they did find a "growth" on my aorta. Early in May, after seeing a vascular surgeon and then being referred to a rheumatologist, the rheumatologist gave my condition that name. He also started me on a course of high dose prednisone.

This past Thursday, my rheumatologist had great news. The latest CT scan showed the inflammation had decreased in size by nearly half! He's starting to wean me off the prednisone now. Hopefully the inflammation won't reoccur. He's watching me closely.

Best doc I ever had in my life.
